POTHOS BOUQUET

If  there is one plant that is very easy to grow even for the inexperienced, it is the Pothos Plant.

Commonly known as Money Plant or Water Plant, they come in different varieties but the most common of all is the Golden Pothos. Its green, waxy leaves are heart-shaped with streaks of yellow.

While they grow best under bright and indirect sunlight, they thrive practically anywhere  be it indoors or outdoors, in pots or on the ground with moist soil and hardly any fertilizer needs. When left to grow on the ground, their leaves can grow much bigger and wider and can be invasive to other plants.

In  many published botanical articles, the Pothos has been listed as one of those that effectively remove toxins from indoor air and promote oxygenation more than other plants. This makes it an ideal indoor plant, not to mention its colorful, attractive appearance that lights up any room or corner.

Almost always, Pothos is grown as a vine hanging from a pot or in a jar with water, crawling on driftwood, a fence or a tree, or clinging to a trellis. When left untrimmed, however, it can grow wayward to an undesired height or length with long roots hanging from the branches. It can also be poisonous although not fatal to cats, dogs and children and may cause vomiting when ingested into the mouth.

Iyou are a busy body with limited time to tend to your Pothos, you may want to grow and maintain it not as a hanging plant or a vine, but as a bouquet in a pot. This only needs occasional trimming of new stems to keep the round shape of the foliage. At the same time, you can quickly plant the fresh cuttings and save you from the cost of buying a new pot of Pothos. Despite its easy propagation, the Pothos plant has suddenly become more expensive than usual after a new breed of gardeners - the Plantitas  and Plantitos -  turned to gardening during the long COVID-19 lockdown period. Sad to say, re-sellers have to jack up the prices to recover packaging and logistical costs, among others, during this plantdemic surge.

Here’s how to achieve that unique Pothos Bouquet that you can make as a special present for any occasion or a great conversation piece in your living room and at the office.

A gift with your own personal touch can be the most valuable present of all.
